Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you will care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), you'll have exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and advanced care.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification by the AHA.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting, bending, and twisting throughout the workday.Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and 20 lbs. overhead.Ability to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.Must be able to push / pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform sliding transfers with assistance.Exposure to chemical, hazardous waste, and bodily fluids; protective clothing and equipment required.Must possess functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine motor skills for IV insertion and procedures.Mandatory operation of equipment necessary for job performance.This job description outlines the essential functions and responsibilities of the position but is not exhaustive of all duties that may be assigned.
