Personal Care Assistant Position Description

This personal care assistant position will be available immediately. This position is 7 hours per day Monday through Friday. The salary and benefits are in accordance with the Support Association Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.

Personal Care Assistants provide selected students with help inside or outside of the classroom setting. Applicants with either an associate's degree; two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (48 credits) or meet the "Highly Qualified" Pennsylvania paraprofessional certification status will be considered. Highly Qualified training / certification opportunities will be afforded by the district. Candidates with current CPR, AED and first aid certification are preferred, but training will be provided. Candidates must possess an understanding of and have empathy for the student to whom they are assigned.

The hourly rate is $20.38.
