Job descriptionWork in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med / Surg unit within an acute care setting Unit has 10 beds and provides care for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac conditions Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5 Responsibilities include PEG tube care and feedings, use and care of CVC / PICC / Midline, management of tracheostomy patients, and titration of Heparin drips 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays RNs may float to ICU and Acute Rehab as needed Epic EMR is used in the unit; experience preferred Work closely with a house supervisor available 24 / 7 and supported by nurse aids / patient care techs with a 1 : 10 ratio Respiratory therapists manage all respiratory equipment in the unit Monitor techs observe tele packs housewide, with monitoring based in the ICU Scrubs of any color are allowed; only OSF approved t-shirts are permitted Classroom orientation followed by 2 unit-specific shifts with a preceptor will be provided Holiday rotation and additional weekend coverage may be required Position does not currently have an on-call requirement, but this may change Active IL RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred but not required Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience Proficiency in providing PEG tube care / feedings, managing CVC / PICC / Midline, caring for tracheostomy patients, and titrating Heparin drips High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
