We are seeking a Remote Member Service Representative to support our parish community by responding to member inquiries, offering helpful information, and ensuring that parishioners and visitors feel guided, supported, and valued. This role often serves as the first point of connection for individuals reaching out to our parish, making compassionate and clear communication essential. The ideal candidate is patient, empathetic, organized, and comfortable assisting parishioners via phone, email, and online communication platforms. Candidates may work from anywhere within the United States.
Essential Duties
- Respond promptly and courteously to phone calls, emails, and online messages from parishioners and prospective members.
- Provide information about parish services, sacraments, programs, ministries, and events.
- Assist parishioners with registration, scheduling, and basic administrative needs.
- Document member interactions and maintain accurate records in parish communication or CRM systems.
- Identify needs and route inquiries to appropriate staff or ministry leaders when necessary.
- Follow established scripts, guidelines, and communication standards to ensure consistent member care.
- Offer compassionate listening and supportive responses to individuals seeking pastoral care or assistance.
- Participate in remote meetings and maintain strong communication with parish staff to support coordinated service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and attentive listening.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and comfort with learning new software tools.Strong customer- or member-service mindset with problem-solving abilities.Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally sensitive or faith-related situations.Organized, reliable, and able to follow instructions and established procedures.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Prior customer / member service or administrative experience preferred but not required.Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment and manage digital communication tools.Must demonstrate strong communication etiquette and follow-through.Working Conditions
