Position Summary MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology Technologist for a full-time contract role. This position requires a strong background in interventional procedures, vascular imaging, and pain management techniques. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience and be comfortable floating to units of equal or lower acuity.
Responsibilities
- Perform a range of interventional procedures including tunneled catheter placements, embulization's, drain placements, and suprapubic catheter insertions
- Support vascular interventions such as angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, and IVC filter placements
- Assist with pain management procedures including epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations
- Maintain sterile field and scrub during procedures
- Monitor patients accurately and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Operate imaging equipment including GE / Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm systems
- Document procedures using Cerner
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology and cath lab proceduresMust have prior travel experience; first-time travelers not acceptedProficient in PACS, angioplasty, stent placement, thrombolysis / thrombectomy, and central venous accessFamiliarity with Siemens systems, EKG lead placement, and contrast administrationPreferred skills : CT, ultrasound, IV startsCertifications
