We have an outstanding career opportunity available, as we're looking for the "right person" to serve as PT Program Coordinator - Beach Parking & Camping to performs a variety of administrative and field duties related to parking and camping operations. The ideal candidate possesses experience working with events, effective and cooperative communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to firmly enforce polices & procedures, and can thrive in a busy environment where attention to detail is important.

This is a Non-Perm, Part-Time position.
Temporary / part-time employment is restricted to 1,000 hours within a 12-month period (July 1 - June 30) and does not qualify to receive City benefits, except those required by law. The City does not belong to the Social Security system. However, enrollment in an alternative retirement program is mandatory which requires an employee contribution of 7½% of base earnings to the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS). There are no rights to employment and employment may end with or without cause or advance notice. Further restrictions apply to CalPERS Retired Annuitants.
Examples of Essential Duties
Collects, processes, and accounts for daily parking and camping revenues and records; prepares financial documents and deposits accurately
Maintains traffic and crowd control within the facility and egress / ingress areas by properly placing barricades, cones and delineators in traffic situations
Enforces traffic and City ordinances within the parking facility
Troubleshoots and repairs equipment
Responds to citizen inquiries
Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience : High school diploma or equivalent certificate and three (3) years of directly related experience
License : Possession of a valid California Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required at the time of appointment and throughout the course of employment
Employees regularly assigned / required to drive a city or personal vehicle in the course and scope of work shall be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program due to the performance of field duties that may require operation of a City vehicle.

PHYSICAL TASK & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
The incumbent must be able to meet the physical requirements of the class and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. When work is performed outdoors, there is full exposure to the elements, and the incumbent may be exposed to heat and cold. The incumbent stands and walks on level and uneven / slippery surfaces, twists, bends, pushes, pulls, crouches, reaches, and grasps. In an office environment, the work requires sitting at a desk or table for prolonged periods of time and use of a computer and screen. Public Employee Disaster Service Worker : In accordance with Government Code Section 3100, all Huntington Beach city employees are required to perform assigned disaster service worker duties in the event of an emergency or a disaster.
The SALARY RANGE is composed of seven steps. Merit step increases are based on satisfactory performance.
PROMOTIONS within the City are based upon the merit system principles emphasizing individual ability and utilizing competitive examinations.
