Job Summary
As a member of the instructional team, the Substitute Teacher will be responsible for facilitating student learning and supplementing direct instruction with computer-based instruction as needed. The Substitute Teacher uses a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to teach content and skills to students in small- or pull-out groups. The Substitute Teacher regularly meets with students to advise and plan for students individual learning plans, providing coaching and mentoring in an advisory capacity.
The Substitute Teacher works as a part of the instructional team in order to meet the needs of all students. Because building relationships is a critical component of this learning environment, the team works together to identify student needs that may be barriers to success. Teachers collaborate with team members to analyze different means of meeting student needs and communicates with students, parents, and other team members about student progress and plans for next steps.
