Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Standish, ME, focusing on supporting diverse student needs within a collaborative and supportive learning environment. This contract position spans the current school year and includes two openings : one for a 3rd-grade case manager supporting a caseload of 12 students, alongside two support staff, and another for a Life Skills teacher / case manager with a caseload of 6 students.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as a case manager, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique goals and needs.
- Collaborate effectively with support staff, teachers, and families to ensure a cohesive and inclusive educational experience.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to promote growth and engagement.
- Attend and contribute to meetings regarding student progress and program development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with educational standards and protocols.
Qualifications :
Current Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Maine.Experience working with elementary-level students, specifically in special education settings.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and students.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Location and Schedule :
