Operating Room RN Job Details

Location : Burlington, Vermont 05401

Assignment Length : 6 weeks (10 / 16 / 2025 – 11 / 30 / 2025)

Healthcare Setting : Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center

Shift : 10-hour rotating shifts (Day / Evening); typically three day shifts plus one off shift per week (off shift options : 8 : 45am–7 : 15pm, 10 : 45am–9 : 15pm, or 12 : 45pm–11 : 15pm)

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2610 - $2800

On-Call : One weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call per four-week schedule block

Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Vermont or compact state

BLS certification (American Heart Association required)

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience

Prior travel nursing experience in the United States

Experience in a large academic Level 1 trauma center

EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)

Ability to circulate all specialties except CVOR cases

Ability to scrub General, GU, GYN, ENT, Eyes, Plastics, Laparoscopic, Trauma, Thoracic, and Vascular cases

Flexible scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs

Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)

Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April

All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained

OR RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma operating room

Circulate and scrub a wide variety of surgical cases (excluding CVOR)

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Demonstrate flexibility with rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR

Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

Participate in bi-weekly orientation as needed
