The City of O'Fallon, MO is looking to hire a full time Water Main Replacement Supervisor . Our Sewer Maintenance Supervisors earn competitive hourly rates from $35.49 to $53.23 (top of grade) with an expected starting salary of $35.49 . As part of our Water and Sewer Division, you will be responsible for supervising and participating in the work of personnel responsible for the replacement / repair of the City water mains and the restoration of disturbed job sites. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, but overtime hours may be required occasionally.

Other duties and responsibilities include :

  • Supervising and participating in the repair and maintenance of water distribution infrastructure, specifically water mains
  • Supervising and assisting in the restoration of yards following major system repairs and replacements
  • Training, assigning, directing and supervising the work of assigned personnel
  • Ensuring time and attendance records are accurately prepared and submitted electronically each pay period.
  • Assisting in the preparing of bid documents, budgets, purchase orders, and purchases in accordance to the City's Finance Policy
  • Assisting as needed with vendors and contractors concerning in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Responding to and resolving citizen questions, complaints and concerns
  • Planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising an assigned shift of snow removal operations.
  • Maintaining assigned vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Prepares recommendations for personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, discipline matters, evaluations, accidents, injuries, etc.
  • Completing required reports.
  • Responding to after hours emergencies
  • Assisting other city crews as needed

We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable in all aspects of the replacement and restoration of water main systems. This person should be able to train, assign, direct and supervise the work of assigned personnel.

  • Requirements include :

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with five to eight years of experience or service (one to three years of supervisory experience).
  • The ability to work nights / weekends for winter operations and emergency events.
  • Possession of, or ability to readily obtain a DS III Certificate from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources
  • Possession of, or ability to readily obtain a Class A commercial driver's license. Paid CDL Training Program available
  • Knowledge of the maintenance and repair / replacement of water distribution systems
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift objects, climb ladders, use tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
  • The ability to perform work in an environment where temperatures can vary based on weather conditions
