Unit Notes

Auto Offer off of Prescreen

MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE CARDIAC DRIPS!!

Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam PRIOR TO SIGNING CONTRACT ( MAX ATTEMPTS), within hours of offer. If traveler fails, they will be sent home and made a DNU for months for CSH AZ and CSH Sac regions

There is also a pass / fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation. If traveler fails Sim, they will be sent home and made a DNU for mo

Will float between all Tele and MedSurg units

Floating is required. Depending on skill level, nurses will float to ICU, Cardiac Tele, as well as all Tele units, MedSurg, any & every holding area (this could be in the Cath Lab, ER, observation floor, even a hallway) They staff the observation floor st, then the other units. Floating would include between Chandler & Mercy Gilbert campuses. Notification of campus and unit given hrs prior to shift start. Floating to different units mid-shift can happen. Rare to float to another campus within a single shift, but possible. The distance between the campuses is miles. Depending on traffic takes minutes. All interstate. Must clock-out when leaving one campus then clock-in when arrive at the other campus.

Tele BA

  • Unit : CV Tele BA

  • Certs : BLS, ACLS
  • Ratios : : -
  • Charge Nurse : Yes, no patient assignment. Also have a Clinical Supervisor in a management role.
  • Techs : PCTs - per every patients.
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend.
  • Scrub Color : Navy
  • Tele : Centralized tele. RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.
  • Vents : No
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night.
  • IV Team : No
  • RT / : Yes
  • Pharmacy / : Yes
  • Shifts : hr shifts. -.
  • Floating : To similar or lower acuity.
  • Floor specific orientation : days on the floor.
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day CABG patients, general tele. Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine to titrate down ONLY. No pediatrics, y / o and older.

Tele Neuro

  • Unit : A Neuro
  • beds : bed
  • Certs : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Ratios : : -
  • Charge Nurse : Yes, no patient assignment. Also have a Clinical Supervisor in a management role.
  • Techs : PCTs - per every patients.
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend.
  • Scrub Color : Navy
  • Tele : Centralized tele. RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.
  • Vents : No
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night.
  • IV Team : No
  • RT / : Yes

  • Certs : BLS, ACLS
  • Ratios : : ratio days and nights.
  • Charge Nurse : Yes, does not take patients. Also has Unit Supervisor.
  • Nurse Aides : PCTs on days. PCT or Task RN at night.
  • Weekend Requirement : weekend shifts per week period (days - Sat, Sun, nights - Fri, Sat). One major and minor holiday.
  • Scrub Color : Navy
  • Tele : Client Monitors. Central monitoring station tech to read.
  • Vents : NA
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Must call Physician.
  • IV Team : No. House SWAT Nurse available for hard IV sticks.
  • RT / : Yes
  • Pharmacy / : Yes, ICU Pharmacist covers on days.
  • Shifts : hrs. -.
  • Floating : Float to MedSurg Tele BC and BD
  • Floor specific orientation : shifts on the floor.
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients : % Surgical, % Oncology. Ortho - JHACO certified knee and hip program. - elective knee / hips per week. Other - Urological, Abdominal, Whipple, Women's surgeries (no OBGyn).
  • Additional Notes : Spectralink phones (call light attached to phone)

  • Charge Nurse : Yes, does not take patients. Also has Unit Supervisor.
  • Nurse Aides : PCTS on days. PCT or SWAT RN at night to task.
  • Weekend Requirement : weekend shifts per week period (days - Sat, Sun, nights - Fri, Sat). One major and minor holiday.
  • Scrub Color : Navy
  • Tele : Client Monitors. Central monitoring station tech to read.
  • Vents : NA
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Must call Physician.
  • IV Team : No. House SWAT Nurse available for hard IV sticks.

  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients : General MedSurg patients that require tele. Amio, Cardizem to titrate down only.
  • Additional Notes : Spectralink phones (call light attached to phone). Is the "new grad training unit ", all new grads train with a "clinical scholar " for weeks. Auto Offer off of Prescreen Recc.
