Job description

Office Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company where you will handle material invoices, manage purchase orders and billing, and handle vendor relations, particularly with foreign vendors and freight companies. You will also work closely with the accounting team and manage general office duties such as answering calls and greeting visitors.

Responsibilities :

  • Handle and process 20-30 invoices per week.
  • Manage purchase orders and billing efficiently.
  • Handle vendor relations primarily through email, focusing on foreign vendors and freight companies.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team for onboarding new vendors.
  • Perform general office management duties such as answering incoming calls and greeting visitors.

Essential Skills :

  • Proficiency in office administration and invoicing.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Strong skills in data entry, invoice entry, and invoice processing.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • Experience with Oracle software is highly desirable.
  • Experience in manufacturing or steel industry is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
  • Some accounting experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Work Environment :

    The work environment offers a flexible schedule totaling 20-24 hours per week, either 5 days a week from 8 AM to 12 PM, or 3 days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role is based in an industrial setting within two trailers, which do not have windows. You will be part of a small office team of about 20 personnel. This position provides a good opportunity for growth into a full-time role with more responsibility and exposure to accounting-oriented work.

    Job Type & Location :

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hammond, IN.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
