XMSTART is looking to add an experienced and strategic full-time Systems Engineer to our team, in Springfield, VA. This position is 100% Onsite.
Requirements
Responsibilities :
- Provide Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services
- Work multiple ground system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions
- Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across customer site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise
- Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs
- Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government
- Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture; ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes
- Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations maintenance plans; review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.)
- Represent government’s interests at various forums; provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers
- Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal / external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress
- Occasional CONUS travel
Qualifications
Expertise in full system engineering life cycle; from concept, requirements, design & development, to deployment and operational maintenanceExperience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and / or mission applicationsAbility to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout system development lifecycleSelf-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; readily defines solutions for broad, abstract topicsPolished communicator (written / verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; and comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managersMaster at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders consensus builderDesired / Preferred Qualifications :
Real-time operations experience as a SIGINT or GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator; familiarity with space operations and policies, ground operations, and system requirements / governance policiesFamiliar with Digital Engineering / Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologiesEducation :
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering orMathematics (STEM)and nine (9) years or more experience; orMaster’s in STEM field and seven (7) years or more experience.contract requirementSecurity Clearance Requirements :
Must be a US CitizenActive TS / SCI with CI polygraph
