About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is preferred.

If 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel is present, significant RN experience outside of ICU may be considered for approval.

Minimum of one prior travel assignment is required.

License : Registered Nurse (RN)

Certifications : BLS

ACLS

NIHSS

TNC

Must-Have : Epic experience

Ability to work a 48-hour per week contract

Experience managing complex ICU patients

Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills

Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with critical patients

Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred

Description :

This is a mixed unit with 39 beds, including medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients.

Complex ICU patient types include ARDS, myocardial infarction, CVA / TIA, COVID, and post-surgical cases.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 1, 1 : 2, and 1 : 3 depending on acuity.

Travelers must reside 100 miles away from the facility.

The unit is supported by 1-2 Nurse Aides and a Charge Nurse overseeing all ICU areas.

Peripheral blood draws are done by phlebotomy, and midlines are placed by ICU staff.

Physician support is available from Intensivists and Advanced Practice Providers.

Floating is uncommon unless overstaffed; travelers may float to any adult floor, including Medsurg / Tele.

No on-call or holiday scheduling is required.

Approval of time off for up to 7 days must extend to accommodate a full contract.

No request time off during peak events is permitted.
