Location : Lynchburg, VA 24503 (Virginia healthcare jobs)

Unit : Med / Surg Intermediate Unit (Step Down, Telemetry)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 14 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (Assignments end on Saturdays)

Hours per Week : 36

Employment Type : Travel RN

Local Candidates : Not accepted within 60 miles

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) License required at time of application

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med / Surg Telemetry or step-down nursing

Prior travel nursing experience required

BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred

NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Cerner EMR experience preferred

All requested time off must be submitted with application

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in the Med / Surg Intermediate (Step Down) Unit

Monitor telemetry, administer IV drips and infusions, start IVs, and manage patient transports

Float to other units or nearby campuses as needed (travel nurses float first)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting

Support a culture of mentorship and professional development for students and new staff
