METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL - Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

This advertisement will run until filled with the following cutoff date for review of applications : 1st and 15th of each month.

DSH-Metropolitan is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated Neuropsychologist to fill our full-time vacancy. The position requires the ability to provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment for criminally and civilly committed psychiatric patients, in an inpatient state hospital setting. In addition, the position includes managing the hospital’s psychological assessment materials, providing consultation and training for other staff members, supervising psychology interns and students, and assisting with quality oversight for various psychological assessments. Experience with and the ability to provide training, consultation, and supervision in psychodiagnostics and forensic assessment is preferred.

Desired Qualifications for applicants include :

a) Completion of two years of formal Neuropsychology training. (i.e., completion of a two-year, post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology or a one-year, full time pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology and a one-year post-doctoral internship or fellowship in neuropsychology).

  • Applicants completing post-doctoral fellowships are encouraged to apply as early as possible before the completion of their post-doc program. At the discretion of the hiring authority, start dates for selected candidates may be coordinated with the end of post-doc training.
  • b) Applicants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who are fluent in and can conduct evaluations in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.
