PROJECT MANAGER, ENGINEERING - LAND DEVELOPMENT / MULTIFAMILY TEAM
Note : Depending on the top applicant's location, this role may be based in our Southern CA corporate office in Upland, CA, or our Northern CA office in Sacramento, CA.

About your new Career :
Lewis Management Corp. seeks a Project Manager, Engineering, reporting in either our Southern California office in Upland or our Northern California office in Sacramento. In your role, you will bring your civil engineering and construction expertise to all stages of land development, including feasibility, schematic design, the agency review process, construction document generation, and ultimately project construction, emphasizing constructability and value engineering.
This role will report to our Vice President, Engineering, and involve you in all stages of land planning for new master-planned residential communities, multifamily communities, retail, and industrial.
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include :
- Advise our third-party civil and dry utility consultants throughout the engineering process, beginning with site acquisition and taking developments through final construction. These developments include new multifamily communities, retail, industrial, or the backbones / finished lots we're constructing for our guest builders.
- Generate RFPs for construction documents and reports; lead consultant selection.
- Direct our consultants as they generate cost estimates, prepare utility plans, tentative tract, utility maps, and street plans, aligning jurisdictional requirements and best practices while coordinating with the vertical design team.
- Support our Construction team by analyzing field conditions, performing schedule audits, responding to RFIs, managing the CASp review process, and approving submittals.
- Review Conditions of Approval, geotechnical reports and their associated design recommendations, and composite utility plans to ensure timely execution and cost efficiency.
- Support Purchasing by providing / reviewing quantities and costs, assessing bid spreads, and analyzing Rule 15 / 16 contracts.
- Document Lessons Learned, value engineering approaches, construction technology and code impacts, and share across all departments of the firm.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including utility providers, municipalities, and homeowners' associations.
To be successful, your background should include :
Civil Engineering degree with 5+ years of engineering design, project management, and construction coordination experience for land development projects (multifamily / single-family highly preferred).Education : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is highly preferred. A professional license (P.E. Professional Engineer) is desired, but not mandatory.Knowledge and experience with land planning, constructability, value engineering, development activities, and public improvement projects.Engineering knowledge of :Design, specifications, standards, and codesGrading and drainage plans, including soils and geotechnical reportsDry utility coordination, plan review, and the contract / construction processPublic improvement plans for streets, sewers, storm drains, water, and dry utilitiesRegulatory compliance with NPDES, including NOI's, NOT's and SWPPP plans, implementation, reporting, and documentation requirementsBest practices for longevity as it relates to design and construction materialsYour construction experience should include :Multifamily and single-family residential developmentsGrading methods, procedures, and techniquesPublic improvements constructionMaterials and cost implications, and project schedulingComputer skills should include using Procore and Bluebeam.ADDITIONAL INFO :
This is a full-time position, with in-office required for Monday to Thursday. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required for travel to company projects in the Sacramento and Inland Empire areas of California.
