Financial Administrator I - Limited Service

The Vermont Department of Public Service (PSD) is seeking a Financial Administrator I to join the Administrative Services Division. This position will be responsible for financial, administrative and clerical work. Duties may include :

• Preparing financial reports
• Maintaining accurate accounting and financial records
• Processing invoices for payments
• Tracking expenditures and generating reports
• Preparing journal vouchers
• Managing correspondence
• Public records management

This role requires an understanding of accepted accounting principles, internal controls, and federal grants management guidance is desired. The work requires a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. The position is based in Montpelier.

This position, Financial Administrator I - Limited Service, is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through 08 / 31 / 2029. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs. Minimum Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications : All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standards.

Special Requirements : For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
