Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with at least two years of large operating room experience and strong skills in scrubbing for a 13-week travel assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital operating room handling varied cases including neuro, ortho, transplants, robot-assisted, and vascular proceduresSchedule consists of 10-hour day shifts, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 6 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pmWeekend and holiday call required with call backFloat between departments and / or local locations within 20 miles is requiredEpic EMR experience is preferred but not required and on-site training is availableResponsibilities include providing direct perioperative nursing care, overseeing LPNs and assistive personnel, and coordinating care with the healthcare teamBasic cardiac arrhythmia testing is required on the first day of orientation and must be passed to continue assignmentFirst-time travelers are not eligible due to required prior travel experienceHoliday call coverage is required according to hospital needsCandidate will document and follow department protocols using EMRProfessional appearance and adherence to hospital dress code is expectedRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license is requiredCurrent BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross is requiredMinimum of two years of recent experience in a large OR setting is requiredAbility to both scrub and circulateCompletion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment is requiredAssociates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is requiredACLS and PALS certifications are preferredMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate flexibility and teamworkCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local applicants are not acceptedReturning permanent staff must have been separated for at least one year to be eligibleBenefits
