Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Manager supports the Division Safety Manager and leadership team in implementing and enforcing safety procedures across field operations and facilities to ensure full compliance with Southland Industries' safety standards. This position oversees and coordinates all safety-related activities within the division, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations while fostering a strong safety culture. The role plays a key part in minimizing risk on energy efficiency projects and other energy-focused construction work. Initially, this position will focus on supporting safety initiatives in the Southern California region, with potential travel up to 25-30%.

What you'll do :

• Tours and inspects small or large, complex job sites to ensure compliance with company, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Reports concerns to safety management. Ensures Enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas / procedures and recommending corrective procedures. Provides recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues. Ensures cited issues are corrected within designated timeframe.
• Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspection reports and training logs. Uses information to track trends and injury rates. Develops current and future loss control strategies and implements corrective actions to prevent similar incidents.
• Provides emergency response to employees as needed. Participates in and documents information for the investigation of accidents and injuries and submits data to regulatory agencies as required.
• Contributes to updating training materials and coordinates and facilitates employee training as necessary.
• Directs the workflow of less-experience safety employees
• Exercises independent judgement with respect to disciplinary actions for safety violations and implementing procedures to correct similar future violations. Consults with manager on decisions that significantly impact the company.

Pay : Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado / New York City / California / Washington) this ranges from $89,316-116,111 plus annual incentive, benefits and retirement program as outlined above.
