Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Potsdam, NY 13676 (Upstate New York healthcare job)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (18 : 45 – 07 : 15), 36 or 48 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2020-$2080

Employment Type : Travel RN Contract

Patient Ratios : 1 : 3-6 (nights, adjusted by acuity)

Unit : Mixed acuity PCU, MS Telemetry, and Med-Surg patients

Orientation : 12 hours

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Float Requirement : May float to sister units (West 2, West 3, Observation)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York RN license (must be in hand at submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, IMC, or Stepdown RN experience within the last 3 years

Experience with EPIC charting system (required)

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (PALS and TCAR preferred)

Willingness to float to sister units as needed

Travel nurses must live more than 50 miles from facility

First-time travel RNs are welcome!

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a mixed acuity stepdown setting, including PCU, MS Telemetry, and Med-Surg patients

Monitor and manage cardiac drips (including titration), dysrhythmias, and post-MI care

Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide wound care

Care for patients with a variety of diagnoses : surgical (ENT, general, trauma, ortho), overflow medical, and rare pediatric cases (if experienced)

Utilize advanced equipment such as CPAP / BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and perform tracheostomy management

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and follow SBAR communication protocols

Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control standards

Participate in unit orientation and complete required modules prior to start
