Job Title : Geostructural Engineer
Location : Chesapeake, Virginia (in-office + field work)
Employment Type : Full-Time
Base Pay : $27.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour (approximately $56k to $62k annually) - Profit sharing available for all employees (paid out twice per year)
About the Role :
We are seeking a Geostructural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and review of geotechnical and structural components for construction and repair projects. This role involves engineering analysis, technical reporting, and collaboration with senior engineers, CAD technicians, and clients. Projects include residential, commercial, and industrial properties, excavation support systems, foundation systems, and ground improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and assist with CAD drawings for geotechnical design work (foundations, piers, beams, posts, etc.).
- Review data, drawings, and calculations; prepare technical letters and reports.
- Occasionally observe field explorations and construction activities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, CAD staff, and clients to ensure project success.
- Adhere to safety policies and complete projects within schedule and budget.
Qualifications :
B.S. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Structural focus); EIT preferred.1+ years of experience in geotechnical or structural engineering.Proficiency in CAD, Excel, Bluebeam, and Word.Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.Valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to travel and perform field work in varying conditions.Work Requirements :
May require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and manipulate (carry, lift, move) light to medium weights of 25-50 pounds.Ability to walk construction job sitesRequires good hand-eye coordination, good eye-sight, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical information and to analyze complex data.Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work- related errands or to attend meetings may be required.May need to be on project sites for extended periods of time.Must have valid license to operate a motor vehicle.Attend meetings and interviewsWhy Join Us?
