Job Description :

We are looking for a Specialist Manufacturing Engineer skilled in welding processes to enhance our team in Canoga Park, CA, during the 2nd shift. In this role, you will design, implement, and analyze manufacturing engineering plans and projects while effectively communicating with internal and external customers. You will define essential manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems. Your responsibilities will include developing manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes and overseeing critical welding operations on RS25 rocket engines, THAAD vehicles, and other advanced programs. You will also craft complex weld sequences using machine language on electron beam welding machines and support GTA welding operations.

Essential Functions :

• Oversee and troubleshoot critical weldments while ensuring adherence to best practices for fit-up, cleanliness, and weld parameters.
• Develop and document weld parameters and best practices to support production efforts.
• Ensure work is performed to meet program targets and schedules.
• Define specifications and requirements for welding machines.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions accurately and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding problems, solutions, and results in both written and spoken formats.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in electron beam welding; or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience; or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Additional Skills :

The salary range for this role in California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland, Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State, and New York City is $82,500.00 - $153,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and geographic location.
