The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we don't just power the grid-we empower the future. As a global leader in Power Quality Solutions (PQS), we've pioneered Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) for over 50 years, helping utilities worldwide enhance grid stability, capacity, and flexibility. Now, we're looking for a driven professional to lead operations in our high-tech test facility, where innovation meets precision.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and understands the importance of safety, efficiency, and collaboration. You'll be at the heart of our MACH control system testing-a sophisticated platform built with cutting-edge electronics, fiber-optic communication, and advanced software. Your work will ensure our systems are verified, calibrated, and ready to meet the demands of modern power transmission.

You'll lead daily operations, manage equipment and inventory, and maintain a safe and organized test environment. You'll also collaborate with project teams to support commissioning and testing activities, ensuring every system meets our high standards before it reaches the field.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Supervise and maintain order in the test facility
  • Lead safety inspections and ensure compliance with HSE standards
  • Manage inventory and calibration of test equipment
  • Coordinate with project teams to support testing needs
  • Oversee procurement and availability of consumables
  • Act as asset manager for IT and lab equipment
  • Support commissioning and verification of electrical systems
  • Improve test area processes, instructions, and guidelines
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (default if not specified)
  • Experience in electrical installations or test areas
  • Knowledge of electrical risks and risk assessments
  • Strong focus on health, safety, and environment (HSE)
  • Experience in commissioning, testing, and system verification
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
