JOB DESCRIPTION :

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Estimating Assistant. You will support our Estimating Department throughout the entire bidding process while playing a key role in keeping business operations and activities organized and on track. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual capable of working closely with the project team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :

  • Assist Estimators in preparation of proposals including review of plans, specs, and bid documents, quantity take-off, vendor quotes, and cost analysis
  • Communicate directly with vendors and customers
  • Assist setting up for estimating meetings, preparing notes, spreadsheets, and running reports
  • Attend site visits and meetings to take photographs, document site conditions, gather questions and requests for information, and perform due diligence
  • Prepare small material and labor estimates ranging from $5,000 to $50,000.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS :

  • 1-3 years of construction experience preferred
  • Ability to understand and organize construction plans and specifications
  • Proficient in mathematics, data analysis, and strategic report writing
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, team members, customers, vendors and trades professionals
  • Must be detail oriented, analytical, have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to accommodate last-minute requests in a fast-paced environment, a team player, ready and willing to take on whatever challenge is offered
  • Experience with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets, estimating software and tools, and database managers is preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) and the ability to adapt quickly to additional programs & software
