Pay Information $2,168 per week About The Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty : Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Active RN License Certifications : BLS Must-Have : - Level 1 Trauma experience - Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance Description : Must have Level 1 Trauma experience. Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule. Travel teams must have their own vehicles. Natural hair color is required, and no facial piercings are permitted. Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing. A pass / fail exam is required on day one of orientation. All registered nurses will be expected to complete a simulation lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with the exception of specific units. Travelers who break the sterile field during simulation activities may be termed. The hospital expects that every nurse is competent in maintaining a sterile field. Experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients is highly recommended. Registered nurses will be responsible for interpreting common rhythms. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1 : 3 or 1 : 4. Registered nurses will be required to titrate drips, including Heparin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone. Tele monitor techs are located off the unit, and registered nurses should be able to read their own strips. Shifts will be balanced with the scheduler according to requests for self-scheduling. Weekend and holiday shifts are required. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is required to other applicable areas. Scrub color is navy blue, and scrubs are not provided. Unit-specific orientation will be conducted over two days. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
