Primary Job Responsibilities :
- To provide quality Occupational therapy services and initiates referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
- To evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conduct specialized evaluations as indicated.
- To supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of the treatment plan.
- Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
- Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
- Guide and educate family members and caregivers
- Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
Skills :
Proven working experience as occupational therapistExcellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapyFamiliarity with ADLs evaluation tools ( e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)Valid license to practice occupational therapyBS degree or greater in occupational therapyReasons to join :
