6 to 12 month contract

Overview : Responsible for configuring, maintaining, and monitoring network and converged voice systems to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant operations supporting enterprise and EMS environments.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and support network / voice hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, VPNs).

Monitor network performance (latency, bandwidth, device health) using tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, and Wireshark.

Troubleshoot user, device, and EMS connectivity issues; perform root-cause analysis and escalate when necessary.

Maintain accurate documentation : configurations, topology diagrams, inventories, IP schemas, and change records.

Support network design, upgrades, HA architectures, and secure configuration standards.

Assist with firewall rule management, access control, port-security, and VPN configurations.

Perform CIP activities for all network devices patching cycles, baseline configuration reviews, and CIP-compliant change management.

Provide documentation and support for SERC / NERC audits and compliance reviews.

Participate in redundancy testing, disaster recovery planning, and MIRT incident response.

Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, operations, and application teams on projects and incident resolution.

Continuously update technical knowledge through internal training.

Core Knowledge & Skills

Network / voice architecture, protocols (TCP / IP, UDP / RTP / RTCP), and distributed computing concepts.

Network monitoring and performance tools; OS utilities; database management tools.

Experience with testing, change management, and performance analysis.

Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Ability to learn quickly, work in ambiguous situations, and deliver on commitments.

Knowledge of ServiceNow is a plus.

OPEN REQUIREMENTS :

Associates degree in Computer Science or related discipline and two (2) yrs of professional experience in a network administration role.

Four (4) year combination of education, training and experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining network systems in a large corporate environment.
