Location : Grand Junction

Compensation : $22.00 / Hourly

The Development Specialist supports fundraising and stewardship initiatives on the Western Slope in collaboration with the Development Team. We are seeking someone who works well in a fast-paced environment, is a problem-solver, motivated by challenges, and has solid communication skills. Support includes but not limited to : working within Raiser’s Edge database to update donor records, research, support fundraising strategies for monthly and annual fund donors, processing donations and reconciliation. Must have a passion to support individuals facing hunger and helping others understand how their support makes an impact.

The mission of Food Bank of the Rockies is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger. We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming. Primary Responsibilities :

Development Support 50%

  • Work with the Denver Data Development Team to update and maintain donor records as needed to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Process & deposit donations
  • Produce donation reports in collaboration with the Finance and Development Systems teams
  • Review revenue and donation reports in our Engaging Networks and Raiser’s Edge databases
  • Work with the Denver Development Systems team to keep donor records updated
  • Coordinate and provide collateral for Food Bank of the Rockies social media and other marketing or development needs

Donor Relations 30%

  • Support the Development Manager, with proofing, reviewing, personalizing (if needed) and mailing donor acknowledgment letters
  • Assist with donor correspondence and document all relevant information in Raiser’s Edge
  • Manage stewardship for new donors
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
  • Admin Support 20%

  • Maintain inventory and place supply orders for stationery, development and marketing materials and maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory and organization of supplies
  • Design monthly slide deck for lobby and warehouse
  • Assist Western Slope Development team with scheduling external networking events
  • Assist new Western Slope employees with the onboarding process
  • Create, refine, and implement standard operating procedures to enhance team efficiency
  • Take notes for team meetings
  • Backup administrative support for the Front Desk

  • Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree a plus; or equivalent work-related experience
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of customer service experience
  • Comprehensive computer skills (extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies)
  • Previous experience working in non-profits preferred
  • Knowledge in working in Raisers Edge, NXT or other CRM programs
  • Previous experience in fundraising and / or donor relations management a plus
  • Expected Hours of Work :

    This is a non-exempt, full-time position working approximately 40 hours per week. Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays, and should maintain Food Bank of the Rockies core hours of 8am – 4pm. May require working some nights and weekends, less than 15% of the time.

    Compensation : $22.00 / Hourly
