The  University of Arizona–Tucson / Banner University Medicine  invites applications for a  visionary leader  to serve as  Medical Director of Transplant Hepatology . This is a  prestigious leadership opportunity  to help build and shape the future of a rapidly expanding and academically vibrant  abdominal transplant program  at a nationally recognized academic medical center.

As Medical Director, you will lead a  growing team of hepatologists  committed to clinical excellence, academic collaboration, and innovation in liver disease management and transplantation. You will serve as the  clinical and strategic lead for transplant hepatology,  working in close partnership with renowned transplant surgeons, transplant anesthesiologists, intensivists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

This is a transformative moment in Tucson’s transplant landscape. The University of Arizona is advancing into  robotic organ transplantation , launching a  living donor liver transplant program , and initiating  auto-islet transplantation , placing our program at the cutting edge of modern liver care.

In addition to clinical and leadership responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to engage deeply in  academic research and mentorship , supported by two world-class institutions :

• The  BIO5 Institute  – a globally recognized research hub for  organ regeneration, perfusion, and cellular therapies
• The  Boyer Liver Institute  – a state-funded center dedicated to  pioneering liver disease research and innovation
