PART TIME 24 HRS / WEEK - NIGHTS - 12-HOUR SHIFTS
PAY RATE : $33.32 to $44.35 PER HOUR BASED UPON EXPERIENCE.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the corporate mission vision and values. Responsible to Nursing Services for supporting the nursing philosophy and providing high quality comprehensive patient care. Responsible to the customer for courteous accurate timely service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an approved school of nursing. After orientation up to six months experience on this job is required to perform essential functions. Previous experience as an RN preferred. Previous ER or Critical Care RN experience required.
LICENSURE REGISTRATION AND / OR CERTIFICATION
Current Ohio license as a registered nurse by the Ohio Board of Nursing required OR current RN licensure from a recognized compact state (NLC). Current BLS is required for every RN.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Broad knowledge in professional area and in nursing. Knowledge of regulatory legislative and JCAHO standards related to nursing.
LANGUAGE AND MATH SKILLS
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail word processing basic spreadsheets and work with graphics.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENT CARE
Requests services based on physicians orders. Communicates physician patient and family needs to the appropriate staff member. Assesses plans implements and evaluates all aspects of nursing care for patients. Directs and coordinates patient care services and may be responsible for care rendered by other employees. Provides teaching plan for patients and assures that patient teaching is completed. Intervenes with patients families and medical staff when necessary. Assures compliance for all regulatory agency standards. (Example : JCAHO OSHA NFPA etc.)
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROCESSING MATERIALS
Considerable care on the part of the worker is necessary to avoid damage or loss of materials. Material that could be lost represents substantial investment. Process requires careful adjustments or a high degree of attention from worker.
RESOURCEFULNESS
Requires outstanding ability to work independently toward general results. Often no precedent for and little help in carrying out assigned tasks. Must originate plan adapt invent and contrive to accomplish tasks. Supervisor may work with rather than direct worker in solution of problems.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONFIDENTIAL MATTERS
Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports financial reports information on computer screens and records that are restricted to specific persons; discretion and integrity are recognized requirements. Must comply with confidentiality policy.

Operational and / or patient care errors have adverse effects on the entire hospital system and on relationships outside the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS
Has regular contacts with physicians patients families general public and / or other departments to furnish or obtain information or reports. Requires tact to avoid misunderstanding in contacts where improper handling could affect results. Tact is required in these contacts and the employee assumes responsibility for harmonious relationships. Treats everyone with dignity and respect.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDS VALUABLES AND BUDGET
No responsibility for the release of money equipment or other valuables. May act as a witness or checker in the department.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT
Failure on the part of the worker to exercise due care or to report maintenance needs to supervisor could cause repeated small losses or occasional damage; losses from breakdown and repair could be substantial.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. The employee follows standard practices and procedures for routine work and refers questions to the supervisor. Work progress is checked occasionally and reviewed at completion of the assignment.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides limited supervision to others through motivation direction review and feedback of assigned tasks.
NUMBER SUPERVISED
Supervises no one but occasionally may show another employee how to perform a task.
DEXTERITY
The job requires a high degree of motor control and coordination in order to move body members rapidly and accurately such as operating therapeutic and diagnostic medical equipment administering therapeutic modalities or transcription. Suitable balance and gross motor function are required for transfers and to maintain patient safety and operate equipment. Such operations are a primary component of the job and speed and accuracy are necessary.
WORK DEMANDS MATERIAL HANDLING
Medium Heavy : Lifting 36 to 50 pounds occasionally and / or 15 to 25 pounds frequently and / or 10 pounds constantly. Stands or walks most of the time. Knowledge of proper body mechanics is essential.
WORK DEMANDS NON-MATERIAL HANDLING
Occasional crouching kneeling and keyboard data entry. Forward bending twisting and reaching forward or overhead most of the time.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works regularly under desirable conditions with little or no disagreeable features. Illumination and ventilation are good and distractions are frequent considering the type of work performed. If guidelines are followed risks of exposure to hazardous conditions and bloodborne pathogens is minimal. Job has risk of exposure to hazardous conditions and bloodborne pathogens. Works in a well-lighted heated and / or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
AGE GROUP
Deals with all age groups : infant child adolescent adult and the elderly on the job. Thorough knowledge of the physical social emotional and intellectual needs of all age groups.
ABUSE
Able to detect abuse with regard to state statute. Follows administrative policy for reporting abuse.
