Summary :
Under general supervision and following established protocols and procedures, operates Ultrasound imaging equipment to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Performs in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures. Follows the facility's standards for ethical business conduct. Conducts self as a positive role model and team member. Participates in facility committees, meetings, in-services, and activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and / or emotional stress. Must possess analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures and cross-sectional anatomy. Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code policy.
EDUCATION :
ARDMS Certification or ARDMS eligible which is defined as : Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with a minimum of 12 months full time clinical ultrasound experience.
Working Conditions :
Must be aware of hazards within the department and adhere to safety standards as stated by OSHA.
Must possess the knowledge and ability to implement a patient code, report and respond to a fire or other emergency event on the premises.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
