Position Overview

The Director of Memory Care is responsible for directing the operations of our Memory Care neighborhood (Legacy), a memory care program, working closely with residents, staff, and stakeholders to create a vibrant and inclusive living environment that meets the needs and preferences of people living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the general daily operations of the Legacy neighborhood utilizing industry and company dementia best practices.
• Educate family members with the Family Orientation Guide, schedule and lead resident first meetings / service plans and assist family members through the campus continuum as outlined in the companys Legacy move in / move out criteria.
• Maintain a dementia-safe environment through daily resident rooms, common areas, and security rounds.
• As the "Dementia Champion and subject matter expert, provide education to family members and the community in dementia-related topics.
• Oversee, communicate, and ensure Level of Care completion and follow-up per company policy.
• Complete Social Services and Life Enrichment assessments and documentation for Legacy residents.
• Market and promote the Legacy Neighborhood to potential referral sources and develop relations with local dementia advocacy groups to achieve occupancy goals.
• Represent the Legacy Neighborhood at meetings to provide support for planning and conducting various functions within the neighborhood such as activities, outings, event planning, meal / food requests, etc.
