Instructional Assistant - Student Services JobID : 4020 Position Type : ESP - Instructional Assistant Date Posted : 5 / 2 / 2025 Location : DISTRICT WIDE Closing Date : Until filled   Additional Information : Show / Hide 7.5 hours per day, 181 days per year CLASSIFICATION : INST01 ($21.32-$24.80 per hour) SUMMARY : Responsible for providing direct case management, mentoring, and support for students who are expelled or at risk of expulsion; who are chronically truant; or who are otherwise at risk of educational failure due to life circumstances. Duties include assessing individual student needs and school climate needs, data analysis, collaborative planning, student advocacy, and coordination of community resources for students and families. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass various pre-employment background screenings
• Ability to work with and understand the needs of students
• Computer experience
• Bilingual desired
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
• Experience and / or skills working with culturally diverse population desired JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Provide support services for a caseload of expelled, suspended, chronically absent or otherwise educationally at-risk students.
• Frequently attend and facilitate planning and progress meetings, collaborating with building and district administrative staff, families and youth-serving agency representatives. Assist in referral services and intervention activities. Assist in conducting student and family needs assessments to guide development and successful completion of intervention plans. Maintain accurate and confidential student records and Student Services related data.
• Provide support services for a team of specialists, providing direction and coordination of prevention and intervention services for identified students / families and schools. Support team members' day-to-day activities, training and support needs toward achieving identified goals. Support team in implementing strategies to improve student attendance, engagement and positive school climate.
• Assist team members toward implementation of district wide and school specific attendance, behavior and positive school climate practices. Support team members in implementing such practices and programming.
• Partner with youth-serving agencies in the community in support of individual students, families, schools and the district.
• Facilitate issues-based groups with students. Examples may include but are not limited to bullying, decision making, aggression, and substance use.
