Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and prior Med / Surg experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a 24-bed Med / Surg unit with a patient ratio of 4-5 : 1

Patient population includes general Med / Surg cases and post-op orthopedic patients such as surgical hips and knees

Uses remote telemetry tech unit monitoring and manages heparin drips

Epic EMR is utilized on the unit

Travelers may be required to float across multiple campuses

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Navy blue solid scrubs are required

Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)

Only one day of requested time off is permitted during peak holiday periods

Position may require floating to different campuses as needed

Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the last 2 years

Returning travelers must not have been employed by the client within the past 12 months

Requirements

Active Iowa or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience required

BLS certification required

Epic EMR experience preferred
