American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Binghamton, New York.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY license and broad surgical case expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Operating Room covering a variety of surgical specialties
  • Care for patients in areas including general OR and ambulatory OR
  • Patient population includes bariatrics, vascular, ENT, neuro, ortho, plastics, and more
  • Schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts from 6 : 45 to 17 : 15
  • On-call required : 4 shifts of 24-hour call per 13-week contract
  • Must be able to work all areas and patient diagnoses in the OR
  • Epic charting experience is preferred
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Responsibilities include emergency management, administration of blood products, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and implementing Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
  • Travelers must complete approximately 4 hours of pre-start online modules
  • Returning travelers who were previously employed at any Guthrie facility must have a minimum one-year separation before eligibility
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) can be accommodated
  • Block scheduling is not permitted

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license in hand at time of application
  • Minimum 3 years of prior OR RN experience required
  • Proficiency in a wide variety of surgical procedures (not limited to a single specialty)
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with ambulatory and general OR settings required
  • Must live more than 50 miles from facility for consideration
  • First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of OR experience
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
