The preference for location for this role is to be based near the I-95 corridor from Raleigh to Baltimore or Tidewater, Va. area.
The Regional Manager position for the Federal / Military Division is responsible for driving sales in his / her area of responsibility that contribute to the sales plan and build the Streamlight brand.
Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining distributor and rep agency relationships in their market / territory.
The role will also be asked to provide input into the annual forecasting and planning process for the division Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage activity with key distributor management (directors, vertical managers, vendor relations teams and sales reps) and coordinate field opportunities with these partners.
- Maintain high visibility and interaction with assigned DoD / federal program offices and key end-user decision makers to locate / close significant business opportunities.
- Manage performance and execute marketing efforts in Streamlight’s military retail and base service stores.
- Communicate emerging trends in market / industry back through corporate product development, materials planning and marketing teams.
- Develop and introduce product specifications and RFP presentations.
- Develop and update annual business plan for assigned territory that is in line with Director’s goals / objectives.
- Submits weekly report using salesforce.com for prior week’s activity and necessary follow ups; Conducts monthly forecasting and opportunity pipeline via CRM.
- Ability to conduct and present training & briefings with end users, vendors and distributors in a public speaking environment Attend and represent Streamlight and Streamlight product line in tactical venues and distributor shows and range days.
- Maintains / submits monthly expenses.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education requirements :
3+ years sales and business development experience dealing with federal and military customers 5+ years outside sales experience with heavy background in distribution management / sales Bachelor’s degree Strong understanding of the guidelines that are necessary to conduct business via GSA, FedMall, Prime Vendor / TLS, AbilityOne and other methods used by the federal government Ability to prospect and cold-call new markets, customers and opportunities Existing relationships with certain commands and headquarters for federal / military programs and / or locations that determine equipment Ability to interact with various company operating departments and employees Self starter with experience to manage travel schedule when setting up customer meetings, tradeshows and / or other field support requirements Prior military experience (active / reserve, honorable discharge) Must pass background test that will allow for base entry Must possess a clean driving record for operation of company vehicle Ability to travel up to 40% of time Powered by JazzHR
