Manager, Strategic Convening
Spencer Stuart is seeking a dynamic and experienced manager to join our global commercial organization to help develop and scale our strategic convening and partnership initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering high-impact experiences for board directors, CEOs and C-suite executives that deepen client relationships, elevate brand visibility, and drive commercial outcomes.
This individual will play a critical role in re-imagining and upgrading our board-related convening strategy, assessing the effectiveness of current efforts, and driving innovation across formats, audiences, and topics. The ideal candidate will also curate and manage a select portfolio of external partnerships that align with the Firm's broader business priorities and amplify our market presence.

Position Location : New York City (desired)
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess and evolve our board convening strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance impact, scalability and innovation across event formats, director audiences and governance topics.
- Build and manage a strategic convening roadmap for the North America Board Advisory practice, integrating in-person and virtual formats to advance business goals, deepen client relationships and showcase thought leadership and solutions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including Firm leadership, client service teams, client development leads, and global marketing, to ensure all activities consistently enhance our brand and expertise.
- Deliver end-to-end support for the events portfolio, from strategic planning through execution and post-event follow-up.
- Develop and manage detailed event project plans, ensuring seamless cross-team coordination and flawless execution, while staying on budget.
- Analyze and oversee relationships with external partners to ensure high-quality execution and collaboration.
- Track, analyze and report on event effectiveness, including attendee engagement and follow-up execution, to assess impact and inform future investments.
- Collaborate with commercial team leaders, to assess and evolve our global convening and partnership portfolio, driving innovation across industries, functions, and geographies.
- Contribute to cross-marketing initiatives, including the development of playbooks and self-service tools to modernize and scale convening processes.
Candidate Profile :
Experience, Skills and Knowledge Required :
BA / BS degree required. Concentration in marketing, communications, business, or a related field desired.6 8 years of experience in event planning, strategic partnerships, business development, or client engagement, preferably within professional services.Proven record of designing and executing high-impact events for senior executives and board-level audiences.Strong relationship-building, negotiating and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver with operational rigor and a bias for action.Exceptional project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.Experience working across matrix organizations and global teams.Proficiency with technology platforms, including AI tools, event management software, CRM, and marketing technology platforms.Demonstrated ability to measure, analyze, and report on event performance.Intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset, with a willingness to innovate, test innovative ideas and continuously learn.The base compensation range for this position is $100K - $200K per year. The actual base compensation offered within this range will be dependent on the individual's skills, experiences, and qualifications as well as the office location of the role. This position will be eligible to participate in our annual discretionary bonus program.
