- Facilities Engineer / Specialist III Location : Midland, TX Schedule : Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (OT possible) Target Pay Rate : $110 / hr; $150 / day truck allowance Position Overview The Facilities Engineer / Specialist III provides high-level engineering oversight, technical assurance, and discipline expertise across facility operations and projects.
- This role is responsible for reviewing engineering work performed internally and by contractors to ensure compliance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- The position supports seamless execution of engineering routines and ensures clear, timely communication across multidisciplinary teams.
This senior-level role requires technical depth along with strong communication, facilitation, and leadership qualities. Key Responsibilities In addition to all Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities, the Level 3 Facilities Engineer / Specialist will :
Risk, Safety & Compliance Participate in Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, Hazard Hunts, and Critical Operating Parameter (COP) reviews.Lead incident investigations involving downtime or process safety events.Conduct risk assessments for new facility projects, existing facilities, and track closure of mitigation actions.Engineering & Technical Support Review and validate engineering work performed by internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors.Ensure all designs and engineering activities meet company standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.Lead performance testing and plant-based trials to validate system performance.Develop and update operating guidelines for facilities.Project & Opportunity Management Support opportunity identification and scope development for facilities projects.Provide engineering input and technical assurance throughout project planning and execution.Leadership & Collaboration Ensure accurate and timely communication of engineering activities, progress, and issues across teams.Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers and specialists.Facilitate alignment between operations, engineering, and other functional groups. Skills & Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering — or equivalent professional experience.Extensive knowledge of discipline-specific design standards, engineering codes, and safety criteria.Technical & Professional Skills Strong working knowledge of facility engineering best practices and regulatory requirements.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and high workloads.Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate technical and business concepts clearly.Powered by JazzHR
