Job Overview

As a Shipping Manager at Gourmet Foods International, you will oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring the timely and accurate handling of all outgoing products. You'll manage product movement, monitor shift activities, and maintain high standards of efficiency, safety, and compliance. This position plays a key leadership role within the warehouse team, supporting a safe, well-organized, and productive shipping department.

What does your day look like ? Some of your duties may include :

  • Ensure all daily shipping activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Enforce adherence to warehouse and company procedures.
  • Monitor material handling, product rotation, and safety practices to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Track and maintain employee hours dail, including monitoring overtime.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and ready fora the next shift.
  • Uphold the safety, quality, and legality of all food products.

Things you need to be able to do :

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs., carry up to 50 lbs., and push / pull up to 30 lbs. of force.
  • Able to climb a 10-inch step and work in refrigerated environments for extended periods.
  • Able to work in cold environment for an extended period of time.
  • Able to stand for long periods.
  • Able to reach and bend.
  • Things that are a plus :

  • High School Diploma or higher education.
  • 2-3 years of warehouse or shipping experience.
  • Must have a complete understanding of all aspects of shift operation.
  • Pallet jack certification and forklift certification are recommended.
