PURPOSE OF THE JOB :

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant to provide exceptional support to our dentists and dental hygienists in the Jacksonville Emergency and Family Dental practice. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of dental procedures and delivering high-quality patient care. The Dental Clinical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our practice.

Responsibilities :

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including filling cavities, taking X-rays, and performing cleanings, ensuring patient comfort and procedural efficiency.
• Prepare dental instruments, equipment, and materials for use during procedures, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
• Set up dental trays with the necessary instruments and materials for each procedure, ensuring readiness and organization.
• Greet and prepare patients for treatment, explaining procedures to them, and answering any questions they may have, fostering a welcoming and reassuring environment.
• Take patient histories and update medical records accurately, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date patient information.
• Prepare and maintain dental equipment and treatment rooms, ensuring a clean and functional workspace.
• May take dental X-rays, ensuring high-quality imaging.
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients after dental procedures, ensuring they understand and comply with care recommendations.
• Order and maintain dental supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring availability and proper stock levels.
• May schedule appointments and maintain patient records, optimizing patient flow and clinic operations.
• Provide administrative support, such as answering phones, filing paperwork, and managing patient inquiries, contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice.
