TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor / Delivery RN in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87106!

Pay Information

$2,720 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Family Birthing Center / Labor and Delivery

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 0700 - 1900

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of two (2) years current experience required

License : State Nursing License (or Compact State)

Certifications : BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification

Must-Have : BLS must be completed through an approved entity. Candidate must pass the BCA testing during the first week of assignment.

Description :

Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required.

Assess all triage patients over 20 weeks.

Utilize obstetric triage acuity tools.

Perform labor assessment and evaluation.

Conduct fetal evaluation and assessment.

Evaluate for labor at term, preterm labor signs, signs and symptoms of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, and acute and critical conditions.

If an emergency medical condition is determined to exist, stabilize the patient for delivery or transfer to a higher level of care if needed.

Provide labor assessment, evaluation, and care during intrapartum.

Administer medications including, but not limited to : Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin.

Ensure immediate stabilization of the newborn.

Administer newborn medications.

Prepare for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery.

Assess and care for postpartum patients (both vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients.

Newborn care includes, but is not limited to : hearing screening, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (hepatitis B, vitamin K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assisting with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia care.
