About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Legal to join their mission-driven team. The successful candidate will be the first in-house legal leader, responsible for building and overseeing all legal and compliance functions. This strategic role involves serving as the primary legal advisor on a wide range of matters, including corporate, healthcare regulatory, commercial, product, employment, and privacy issues. The VP of Legal will also be tasked with developing and leading internal legal processes and policies, providing guidance on Medicaid, Medicare, and value-based care, and ensuring the company's activities align with relevant laws and regulations. Collaboration with the executive team on governance, corporate transactions, and fundraising activities is also a key aspect of the position.

Applicants for the VP of Legal role at the company should have a JD from an accredited law school, an active license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and a minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in-house at a high-growth digital health or healthcare services company. A deep understanding of healthcare regulations, particularly those related to Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and managed care, is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and vendor contracting, data privacy, corporate governance, and employment law, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment. A passion for healthcare access and a commitment to serving underserved populations, as well as strong judgment, business acumen, and the ability to balance legal risk with strategic opportunity, are also required.
