Position : Marketing Cloud Consultant
Location : Lowell, MA , Need local to MA or nearby to 50 miles.
Contract Term :
- Start Date : January 1, 2026 and will continue until December 31, 2028
- Renewal This contract will have 2 additional 1-year optional renewals at the discretion of the University after the 3-year term.
Type : Contract , 40 / hrs a week
Objective : Support CRM modernization and enhance Marketing Cloud capabilities to improve recruitment, enrollment, and student success operations.
Job Description
The Marketing Cloud Consultant will lead the design, development, and optimization of Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys, data models, automation, and personalization strategies to support the universitys Graduate and Online admissions operations. This role partners closely with enrollment, recruiting, IT, and CRM teams to build scalable, data-driven communication workflows that enhance engagement throughout the student lifecycle. The consultant will also support roadmap planning, business process definition, and documentation of operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Marketing Cloud & Journey Development
Design, build, and optimize Marketing Cloud journeys using AMPscript, SQL, Automation Studio, and Data Extensions .Map end-to-end data flow required for email, SMS, and engagement journeys.Identify blockers in data, processes, or requirements that prevent journey execution and propose remediation plans.Ensure Marketing Cloud assets align with enrollment, recruiting, and student success workflows.Business Process Documentation
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Recruiting and Student Success operations.Create user guides, process maps, and documentation to support onboarding and knowledge transfer.Facilitate training sessions with the Enrollment Operations team.Strategy & Roadmapping
Build a forward-looking roadmap for Marketing Cloud initiatives tied to university business priorities.Support journey mapping to identify student experience gaps and improvement opportunities.Assist in defining KPIs, success metrics, and reporting strategies tied to marketing and engagement initiatives.Align stakeholders across GPS and UML leadership around priorities and execution plans.Data Quality & Business Process Improvement
Lead initiatives to improve data structure, data quality, and process efficiency for CRM and Marketing Cloud usage.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data extensions, automation schedules, and segmentation logic.Dashboards & Reporting
Design dashboards and reports for operational and leadership-level visibility into marketing, recruiting, and enrollment metrics.Utilize BI tools (Tableau, Snowflake, SQL, Python) when needed to support analytic needs.Required Skills & Experience
Marketing Cloud Expertise
Strong proficiency in AMPscript, SQL, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, and Data Extensions .Experience designing scalable journeys across the prospect-to-student funnel.Understanding of subscriber management, send classifications, personalization strategies, and deliverability best practices.Salesforce CRM Skills
Ability to work with CRM data models to support Marketing Cloud integration.Experience building and optimizing Salesforce reports and dashboards.Business & Strategy Skills
Ability to define and document business processes and SOPs.Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and workflow mapping.Strong communication and change management skills.Technical Skills
Understanding of integration patterns between Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.Ability to work with BI tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, SQL, or Python .Experience using Git / GitHub and modern development workflows (preferred).Experience configuring FormAssembly for data capture is a plus.
