Job description

Sibling is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the development and execution of enterprise security strategies in a hybrid Raleigh, North Carolina-based environment. You’ll take ownership of critical security initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and act as a key technical authority in defending against cyber threats.

The Role

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions including firewalls, SIEM, EDR, and cloud-native tools (AWS / Azure).
  • Lead threat detection, incident response, and remediation efforts
  • Conduct advanced risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration test coordination.
  • Define and enforce policies aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and compliance teams to embed security across CI / CD pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Guide security architecture decisions for new systems and major infrastructure changes.

Experience Required

  • 6+ years in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or security architecture.
  • Proven experience with enterprise-level tools : SIEM (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), EDR / XDR, WAFs, IDS / IPS, DLP.
  • Strong understanding of network security, cloud security (AWS or Azure), identity & access management (IAM), and zero-trust principles.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting / automation (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
  • Deep familiarity with security compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST).
