Job Description :

Duties / Responsibilities

• Establish medical diagnosis(es) and determine a plan of care for short term health problems, stable chronic health problems and / or exacerbation of stable chronic health problems
• Order and review, with supervising physician oversight, routine diagnostic studies and X-rays
• Involved in pre-operative and post-operative work up and care
• Assist with operative functions as delegated by the supervising physicians
• Make daily rounds on all inpatients
• Demonstrate basic medical knowledge of pediatric orthopedics and surgical technique
• Participate in educational activities of Scottish Rite for Children such as case conferences, symposia, and professional educational meetings
• Dictate, complete, and / or sign medical records, forms, and letters related to patients treated by the Nurse Practitioner in an accurate and timely manner
• Participate in mortality and morbidity conferences and performance improvement activities as assigned
• Requires frequent use of various and sundry surgical / clinical equipment
