Summary

As an Emergency Medical Professional, you will play a crucial role in delivering immediate medical care to victims of emergencies, including accidents and sudden illnesses. You will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support from the moment of initial contact until the patient is handed over to a medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent LVHN at public events and provide ambulance standby services when necessary.
• Document complete assessments and treatments in patient care charting software.
• Provide medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services to patients in crisis.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators and external defibrillators.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to determine and prioritize medical procedures to stabilize and transport patients.
• Follow dispatcher instructions while driving and operating emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities to coordinate care.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after handling infectious patients, reporting cases as required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull weights up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent movement including standing, walking, climbing, squatting, and reaching overhead is necessary.
