Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing individualized care to patients in an emergency setting according to established standards, policies and procedures.

Job Functions

• Prepares and transports patients for examination.
• Assists emergency staff in direct and non-direct patient care functions as delegated.
• Performs EKGs and point of care testing.
• Applies splints and braces on patients as ordered assuring good CMS after application.
• Performs mandatory equipment checks.
• Documents the various aspects of care on appropriate forms according to RMC policies and procedures.
• Accompanies ambulance transports and assists with airway management as needed.
• Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area of Emergency.
• Assists with patient-related activities under the supervision of the RN.
• Prepares equipment and aids providers during examination, testing, and treatments of patients.
• Maintains stocked supplies of equipment in emergency department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
