Engineering Technician I - Rome, NY

JOB SUMMARY : The Engineering Technician I is responsible for providing hands on technical support to the engineering, technology and / or systems engineering functions. Support may be required during the design, development, assembly and test phases of process equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. The Engineering Technician I is given assignments that are less complex. Technical oversight and direction is provided.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES) :

• Support engineering staff during the assembly, test and qualification of various equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. required for process systems
• Prepare simple assembly drawings, equipment / floor layouts, specifications, training documentation, process instructions and procedures, etc. via hand drawn sketches and standard office applications
• Utilize a variety of standard test equipment, gauges and other measurement equipment to evaluate and document the performance of components, sub-assemblies and complex process systems.
• Gather and organize data and other input in support of Return on Investment (ROI) cost analysis, process efficiency and improvement, capability and tolerancing studies, etc.
• Provide hands-on assembly, troubleshooting and repair of components, sub-assemblies and final systems using formalized drawings, sketches or detailed verbal and / or written instructions
• Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening etc.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Office Hours : 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, and internal equity.

$20.00 per hour - $32.00 per hour

($41,500 - $66,500 annually)
