Education : Must be qualified and actively credentialed / registered in New York State (e.g., Registered Professional Nurse).Licensure : Active New York State credential (RN).Experience :Must have at least 4 years of clinical practice experience in a facility or community-based setting, including medical, surgical, and / or obstetrical experience. Experience in pediatric / adolescent / reproductive health care is preferred.
At least 2 years of acute care hospital experience is preferred.At least 2 years of experience reviewing charts for the purpose of quality improvement or utilization review is preferred.Knowledge of current disease / care management / coordination trends is preferredTechnical Skills :Must have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, and to prioritize reviews and projects to be completed.
Must have strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to gather and analyze information from records, reports, and other sources.Must be proficient in the use of standard office technology and basic Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams.Must have the ability to travel to on-site review assignments within the metropolitan area (including Westchester and Long Island). Approximately 25 on-site days per year.Key Responsibilities :
Conduct clinical reviews of medical records from a variety of sources as well as other documents crucial to the reviews, as appropriate.Conduct interviews, observations, and reviews of other program documentation as part of comprehensive program monitoring.Develop and draft reports in the form(s) required by the Department.Track status of documents and reviews in databases and other shared platforms.Provide technical assistance to program personnel, where appropriate.Utilize data management tools appropriately to record monitoring findings.
